Marsh Anthology ("we," "us," "the site") is a storytelling and mapping project documenting the marshlands. This policy explains what information we collect from visitors to marshanthology.org, why we collect it, and what choices you have. We collect as little personal information as the site's functionality allows.

Information We Collect

— Newsletter signups. If you subscribe to our newsletter, we collect your email address. We use it only to send occasional updates about the project and do not share it with third parties for marketing purposes.

— Analytics. We use analytics to understand how the site is used (e.g. which pages are visited, in aggregate). This runs without cookies and does not build a profile of individual visitors or track you across other websites.

— Interactive maps. Story pages use Mapbox to render maps. Loading a map sends your IP address and device information to Mapbox, governed by Mapbox's own privacy policy.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information above solely to operate and improve the site and, where you've opted in, to send newsletter updates. We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for advertising or profiling.

Third-Party Services

The site relies on the following third-party services, each of which processes limited data on our behalf under its own privacy terms:

• Vercel — hosting and analytics.
• Mapbox — interactive map rendering.
• Our newsletter provider — stores newsletter subscriber email addresses and sends our newsletter on our behalf.

Cookies

We do not use cookies to track or identify visitors.

Data Retention

Newsletter email addresses are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. Aggregate analytics data does not identify individuals and is retained only as long as useful for understanding site usage.

Your Rights

You may ask us at any time to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you (in practice, this is limited to your newsletter subscription), or to unsubscribe from the newsletter directly via the link in any email we send.
